Location:
Located in the Center of the South American continent. Also known as the Geodesic Center, around 2,000kms from both the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans and about 3.000 km from the North and South tips of the continent, lies Cuiabá, the capital of the state of Mato Grosso. The Lodge:

How to get there:
Regular transfers at Mondays-Wednesdays-Thursdays and Saturdays.
Cuiabá-Pousada departure at 12:30h and 15:00h.
Pousada-Cuiaba departure at 08:30h.

Day 1: Cuiabá - Pantanal - Pousada das Araras
Arrival at Cuiabá airport or pick up at hotel and transfer to Pantanal lowlands. While crossing the area, it is possible to spot and appreciate the local flora & fauna. Late afternoon hike through surrounding área to a 12 m observation tower and a spectacular view of sunset. After dinner, night tour to observe nocturnal environment. Overnight.

Day 2: Horseback riding & Hiking
Full day dedicated t oobserveing the Pantanal’s flora & fauna at the Araras Eco Lodge private reserve. After breakfast, the guide will lead you on a 2 – 3 hour horseback ride through the pastures, woods and wetlands. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, the guide will lead you on a hike in a different área of the private reserve, allowing you to observe and learn more of the local environment. Overnight.

Day 3: Canoe and Drive
After breakfast travel down private dirt roads, to Sentinela Campo n the edge of the Rio Clarinho. Canoe tour to spot aquatic wildlife, birds and flora; possibility of piranha fishing. Brazilian Churrasco style picnic lunch along the banks of the river. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Visit to the Neighbours
Early morning hike for sunrise. Breakfast. After breakfast hike or bike ride to visit to the neighbor farm. Cattle ranch with over 12.000 ha, traditionally rasing cattle over the last three generation in a balanced and sustainable manner. Lunch at the lodge. Guided walk through the ‘Ronco do Bugio’ private reserve with a visit to the main house and a guaraná drink following local tradition. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Pousada das Araras - Cuiabá
After breakfast photo-safari along the transpantaneira Park Road and return to Cuiabá. Drop off at the airport or city hotel.:

Included:
In/Out photo-safari transfer, 4 overnights at the Araras Eco Lodge with full board. All above mentioned activities. The activities may be altered due to weather conditions, season or group make-up with the intent of maximizing your experience of the eco-system. Longer or shorter stay can be arranged upon request.

T-shirts, long sleeved shirt, sneakers or hiking boots, jeans or track suit, hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, binoculars, flashlight, câmera and film. Sweatshirt or sweater recommended from june to september.
