Location:
Juma Lodge is located in a remote and relatively untouched jungle. It is located 100 km southeast of Manaus and can be reached in approxomately three hours by boat, van and boat again. The trip can also be made by seaplane (25min upon request.)
Accomodation:
There are 8 standard huts facing the jungle and three special huts facing the lake and sitting among the treetops at 15 meters above the water, located in na exclusive área of the lodge, offering total privacy. All apartments are comfortable, with private bath room, fan and balcony. The lodge was designed to be fully integrated to the surrounding forrest, where the guests are able to feel real enchantment and mystery of the Amazon. It is built on solid ground, over stilts, facing the silent waters of the Juma Lake.
Important observations: Apartments are equipped with fan, Individual bath room. No hot water.
Restaurant:
The restaurant is also built on stilts. The tables (and benches) are long and curved, creatively carved out of a light blond wood. The meals are in a buffet-style, with regional and international cuisine.

Temperature:
Due to the proximity to the Equator Line (Manaus is at latitude 03º S) it is always hot in the Amazon region, with a year round temperature of +27C (80º F).
When to go:
The Amazon region can be visited at any time of the year. However, there are two distinct seasons that should be taken into consideration when making the decision:
Flood season - from march to august, when water level rises up to 20meters (66 feet). This is the idela season to visit the Amazon flooded land, known as Igapó, in all its beauty.
Dry season - from September to february, the level of the rivers reach its lowest point, decreasing the space for fish and catching them easier. It is also easier to spot alligators.
Vaccines:
As the lodge is located in the jungle, yellow fever and tetanus vaccines are recommanded, though not mandatory.
Communication:
The lodge is equipped with both regular and satélite telephone.
Important for guests:
It is important to bring swimming suits, t-shirts, two pairs of tennis shoes, hats, long-sleeved shirts, long pants for trekking, insect repellant, sun block, rain coat, films, câmera, binoculars and flaslight.
How to get there:
All transfers are contracted services with full security and comfort. The boats have shelters to those who want t ostay out in the sun, and life jackets to all passengers. The vehicles use don the roads are in perfect conditions.
Step 1 (20min): From Manaus Ceasa Harbor to Careiro Village - Private motor boat. During this section the boat góes through the meeting of the waters.
Step 2 (40 min): From Careiro Village to Araçá River - Private Van on a paved road
Step 3 (2 hours): From Araçá River to Juma Lodge - Private motor boat. This section is the beginning of the Amazon experience, going through creeks, flooded lands and inside the rainforest for the first time.
Baggage allowance:
Guests can only bring 10kg of luggage per person (they can leave the luggage at the Juma office – we don’t charge for that – or at the hotel in manaus.
