Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge privileged location (at just one hour from Manaus International Airport) offers clients comfort and a safe jungle experience The term ‘Rain Forest’ describes flora that thrives in areas with registered rain fall reaching 1500 mm per year. The Amazon River measures approximately 7,000 kms, considered the largest river in the world. Its water volume is 11 times larger that the Missisippi River. The Amazon region consisto f flora that occupy 38,5% of the Brazilian territory, representaing a mere 7% of the counties population. Most of the amazonians inhabitants live around a few cities and surrounding áreas, including Manaus, which is a few thousand kms from the Atlantic Ocean, and Belém which is situated on the Equator with a port that is located only a few kms from there.
Accomodations:
Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge hás 60 apartments distributed in 20 bungalows. Each unit hás three apartments, made of concrete and wood. Each room wit hindependent entrance, porches and bathrooms, all with air conditioning, electric showers and screened windows. The bungalows, althrough rustic, are pleasantly decorated and provide much comfort (night light, carpet, indigenous decorative objects, etc).
Infrastructure:
Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge is a tourist, scientific and educational property created and directed initiative back in 1991, opening its doors to the public as na Ecotourism Lodge in 1995. Several streams of clear water run through the área. Over 6 miles of jungle trails including um-cataloqued species, natural savannahs nd creeks enable clients to explore the jungle, observe orchids and giant trees.
Monkey Jungle Reserve:
A rehabillitaion center for primates brought to this local by IBAMA when confiscated from illegal sales and exports. At this location primates are initially kept in quarantine in orderto be evaluated and treated by veterinarians and biologiests. After a period of time, primates are reintroduced to the jungle. During the years that this project has been in action, a twice a day food program was developed feed the primates, (always at 11:00am and 05:00pm) During the feeding process, this área is opened to visitors under supervision of guides and specialized staff, guests of Ecopark Jungle Lodge can observe film and photograph the animals in a total and safe environment.
The rates:
The rates inlcude transfer from Manaus airport at indicated schedule or from hotels, full board during stay and english speaking guidance on all tours.
